Needle Bonding

  • Cylindrical Through Hole Design
    Also known as Straight Line design, this design is common in glass syringe barrels. CyabondŽ needle bonding adhesives secure the cannula byuniformly filling the gap between the hub wall and the needle. CyabondŽ needle bonding adhesives can be formulated with multiple viscosities to allow the use of different gauge cannulae within a standard hub. Bond length must also be considered if the hub is constructed of bond-resistant materials like polypropylene. 
  • Cylindrical Through Hole with Adhesive Well Design
    A variation of the standard Cylindrical Through Hole design, this design integrates a flared opening at the distal end to create a well for the adhesive. CyabondŽ 's formulation expertise will maximize bonding strength at both the hub wall as well as the cannula. This design reduces the adhesive's viscosity constraints while increasing the range of cannulae that can fit within the same hub. 
  • Cylindrical Through Hole with Annular Ring Design
    Critical to many needle bonding applications is pullout strength. The annular ring design molds rings into the hub, that when filled with CyabondŽ adhesives, lock the needle in place, increasing pullout strength. The annular ring design, combined with CyabondŽ needle bonding adhesives can eliminate costly hub and cannula surface treatment.

Tube Set Bonding
Traditional tube set bonding methods have used solvent adhesives to bond the mating tube set. In select applications this still may be the preferred method. As line speeds continue to be increased and customer quality levels grow more demanding, CyabondŽ has responded with the development of formulations for tube set bonding that eliminate the concerns relating to solvents such as bonding dissimilar materials, stress cracking, and environmental factors. 

CyabondŽ 's solvent-free formulations accelerate curing times, reduce stress cracking and allow for the bonding of dissimilar tubing and connectors. Catheter Components Bonding

Balloon Bonding
Adhesives used in catheter assembly applications must hold up to extreme conditions including dramatic temperature and pressure requirements. CyabondŽ 's cyanoacrylate formulations are perfectly suited to catheter applications; eliminating the chance of UV curing compromising the balloons integrity. When PET balloons are used CyabondŽ 's UV adhesives can be used to accelerate curing. 

Lumen Termination
CyabondŽ 's formulation advancements in flexible UV/Visible light cure adhesives can reduce the two-step application often required with urethane processes to a single UV/VL adhesive application. In cases where the substrate may prevent UV/VL application, CyabondŽ 's flexible, two-part epoxy adhesives are perfectly suited to provide high-quality bonds in a single application. 

Reservoir Bonding
CyabondŽ 's reservoir bonding adhesive formulations have been proven to significantly increase line speeds, part quality and workplace safety by displacing joining processes such as solvents or ultrasonic welding. CyabondŽ 's UV cure adhesives provide superior bond strength particularly with rigid substrates common with reservoirs, cardiotomies, oxygenators, heat exchangers, and filters. If components are constructed of UV blocking plastics, CyabondŽ 's medical device UV/Visible light adhesives, or cyanoacrylates deliver the same adhesion performance and curing speeds.
